The King 2 Hearts
This Korean drama has been keeping me occupied these last few weeks. It revived a hidden, sleeping fangirl part inside of me. It unleashed my fangirlism in such a crazy way that it made me feel so high up on the air almost everyday watching the scenes and wondering what would happen next. As crazy as I could be, I decided to write a review even though the series has not ended yet. Well, it will end this week, two more episodes to go after all. :(
Obvious warning, spoilers ahead, as much as I try to keep it as superficial as possible, so do NOT read if you do NOT want to be spoiled!
Casts >> Perfect. Magnificent. Lee Seung Gi is the best choice for Jae Ha character. From the first time watching Seung Gi in Brilliant Legacy, I already liked him. He played the character of bad-boy-but-actually-a-good-boy-deep-inside well. Throughout the story Jae Ha's character changed a lot with various emotions, and he conveyed them all well. On the other side, I didn't know much about Ha Ji Won but she is a famous actress too. Difference in age didn't seem to bother them, this pairing is just perfect. I have to say that I even like the antagonists; Bong Gu is such a jerk and Je Moon did portray that character splendidly. Jo Jung Suk is a face I have never seen before but he did a great job to keep such an 'uninteresting' face throughout the story, yet he looked so cool when he smiled. See how perfect everyone is? Don't ask me about the foreigners, though; they are just so-so. :P
Music >> Another perfect score. First of all let's start from the previous songs, the soundtracks listed above. SNSD's Taeyeon and K.Will, respectively sang Hang A's and Jae Ha's theme, did such awesome work with the song. So sad, so touching, so much about this pairing. The other songs are pretty good too, but I didn't like them as much as the first two. The background music we can hear in the episodes are super awesome too; they helped to create a stronger atmosphere of the series. Thumbs up!
Story Plot >> I didn't watch series related to politic much so to say so I truly enjoyed K2H's plot. From a laid-back, comedic one, to a suddenly serious and high-tensed plot, yet still has the touch of humor and romance in between. I think all is in perfect size for producing a great flow and dynamic of the plot. At certain times things might be a bit too strange sometimes, like when Hang A had miscarriage... Why it happened didn't make sense at all, still the other parts of the series made up for it. I also like how it portrayed relationship between North Korea and South Korea. As we all know these two countries don't go well with each other. Very ironic that K2H first talked about how army from both countries worked together, trained together, even participated in an international competition as a team. Not that everything went smoothly either; the aura of mistrust and hatred were very strong in the beginning. It became such a ticklish touch to the two countries in real life actually. Nicely done there.
All in all, I didn't regret watching this drama at all. I'm glad I liked Lee Seung Gi from before, from Brilliant Legacy. I checked K2H because of him, and didn't regret it at all. In fact it colored my days waiting for new episodes and with the amazing soundtracks.
I so can't wait to see how this story would conclude. AhHa rocks! <3

Overall I think it wasn't a total waste of time. Wouldn't watch it again though. Lol!

I never heard or seen Hong Gil Dong before, but I don't think that is the most current and popular drama ever, no offense. People are currently in crazy mode over Rooftop Prince, and if I must say all-time drama series would be Full House or Boys Before Flowers. :P
